Sydnie has really stepped up in her senior year, joining the Chamber Orchestra, auditioning for All-State, trying out for Sterling Scholar, signing up for a masterclass at the String Teachers Fall Workshop, and auditioning a solo for the Evening of Concertos. She’s overcome considerable adversity in her time in orchestra, dealing with significant health issues that kept her out of school for months, but always finding a way to make it through. Sydnie always has a positive attitude, even when things are challenging, and gets along with the other cellos in her section. We’re glad to have her in the orchestra! -Mr. Wells

- Coach Haylee loves to win, and her teams compete with that same passion. Watching her at the state Unified Soccer tournament, it was clear that, for her, winning came after ensuring a positive experience for all athletes, partners, and coaches. Haylee took time to talk with participants from every team, making sure everyone was having a great experience. She was a friend, a mentor, and a genuine supporter-checking in, offering advice, and spreading positivity throughout the event. Coach Haylee made sure that everyone in the stadium felt like a winner.
In addition to her leadership on the field, Coach Haylee has been a pioneer of Unified Sports at Salem Hills and has played a key role in helping the program grow within the district and across the state. Haylee is a phenomenal person-she competes to win, but she makes sure everyone around her, including her team and her competition, is part of that winning experience.
